Re: [Ubuntu] UbuntuGIS Admin

FYI, I've talked with Jerome off-list and the admin rights will be
transfered to Sebastiaan, Johan and Jerome. I should do it soon.

Good idea. I'm totally +1 to make some active members admin too.

Allowing others to (also) admin the project is a good thing. This was
also very helpful in the Debian GIS team whose admins were all busy with
other things. I suggest to extend the admin change to more than just
Jérôme, and include all highly involved team members to prevent the lone
admin being a single point of failure.

Perhaps the Geospatial devroom at FOSDEM is a good opportunity to
recruit some fresh blood into the team(s). If Johans talk about OSGeo
Live, UbuntuGIS and Debian GIS is accepted that will be the perfect
opportunity even.

Sadly no one other than Johan and myself have confirmed attending
FOSDEM, which does underscore the low activity of the various team
members.

Hello,

First of all, I can confirm there will be a OSGeo live/debian gis talk
on FOSDEM (not yet scheduled).

I agree it is a good idea to have different admins and I'm a candidate
to be one of them.

Johan

[Ubuntu] UbuntuGIS Admin

2015-01-09 Thread Alan Boudreault

Hi All,

First, I wish to everyone a happy new year! :)

A year ago, I had proposed the idea to create a PSC since my
availability for the project has changed. The PSC creation hasn't work
very since there are not enough people available to take care of
UbuntuGIS. I don't think I'll be able to jump back in the project since
I'm now working for another company. I would like to propose to give the
Admin rights to Jerome Villeneuve Larouche (Mapgears). This include
admin rights for the PPA, mailing list etc. Mapgears has leaded
UbuntuGIS since years and will always be available to help, which is not
necessary my case. That admin spot change could be considered as
*temporary* until someone else brings a strong interest with the PSC.

Jerome, we discussed this briefly last month, are you guys still
interested to take that admin spot?

All, what do you think? Feel free to comment :)

Best Regards,
Alan
