I upgraded my laptop using do-releas-upgrade (which is how I normally do this) and found unity totally inaccessible probably because it was in 3d. So I installed gnome which works but I would like to try unity and I have more computers to upgrade. So the question is how do I get it to start in

Using gedit use ctrl-o to select a file to open. I see no place to type a file name and when I start trying to work through the varios lists to select a file gedit crashes. No errors on screen. Is there a place I can look to see if it is logging an error elsewhere? Tom --
