Public bug reported: When the user long press on a key, it opens extended characters. The character selected by default must be the same than the character highlighted on the base key.
For example on a French layout: - the key 'O' shows a small '9' but a long press defaults to 'Ó' - the key 'a' shows a small '1' but a long press defaults to 'à' ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu RTM 14.09 Package: ubuntu-keyboard 0.99.trunk.phablet2+15.04.20141107~rtm-0ubuntu1 Uname: Linux 3.4.67 armv7l ApportVersion: 2.14.7-0ubuntu8 Architecture: armhf Date: Tue Nov 18 16:05:25 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-11-17 (1 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu Utopic Unicorn (development branch) - armhf (20141117-124536) SourcePackage: ubuntu-keyboard UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: ubuntu-keyboard (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug armhf utopic ** Summary changed: - Long press must default to highlighted key + Long press must default to alternate character displayed on the key -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Apps bug tracking, which is subscribed to ubuntu-keyboard in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393820 Title: Long press must default to alternate character displayed on the key Status in “ubuntu-keyboard” package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: When the user long press on a key, it opens extended characters.
