I've noticed our shadowing is a bit inconsistent lately.
I'm going to say that everything with a strait-on perspective needs to
have a have a top-down shadow. Except mimes where I feel its fine.
I'm sure there's also a few exceptions here where it makes a little
artistic sense but we should go

Not at all. If light is coming from the top the shadow casts on the floor.
But there are many Icons
made yet with the shadow on ground and there are possibilities to change
the shadow - yes.

PS: Your gtk-media buttons are fine as-is. We have to consider the use
of icons and the shadows on these will work fine.
