These icons were commissioned by Canonical indeed, but they are over a
year old and they're not being developed.
By the way, elementary icons, upon which Humanity icon set is based,
will see a new release soon:

the icons looks pretty outdated even after changing many themes. In terms
of visual appeal, I think there is a long way for Ubuntu when compared with
Windows 7. Please look into development of more visually attractive icons
