There wasn't anything that looked useful in /var/log/syslog.
My parents now have the computer, and they have noticed the problem on
several occasions. The workaround is to do a re-boot.
Either way, some extra information in the dialog would provide some much
needed feedback to the user not only t
Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: falconseye-data
It seems that falconseye-data doesn't depend of the falconseye package.
In fact, that package doesn't depend of any other. That makes it
possible to uninstall the falconseye package and still keep the
falconseye-data package installed on t
I can confirm this bug on an Dell Inspiron 6000 system with PATA, module
ata_piix.
I have a load average of about 2.00 when hald is started. If I remove
the sr_mod, the system drops down to nearly 0 avg.
IIRC the behaviour wasn't there with Dapper beta (which was the first
install on this laptop)
This is now fixed in Dapper.

After the screen saver came on, I cannot now reproduce the problem.
I'm starting to suspect that the problem is either to do with the
drivers for the ATI card I have or with OpenGL as the problem was
originally observed after the machine was hung by the screen saver and
required a hard reboot.

I also hit this bug -- it makes the whole package more or less unusable.

Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gcompris
In gcompris, go to 'Amusement activities > Learning Clock' (i.e. click
on the 'propeller hat' and then click on the 'wrist watch').
As far as I understood, this activity is supposed to teach kids how to
set the time on an analogue clock dial. Ho

This _really_ looks like a kernel problem, I assume you've also used the
new kernel?
** Also affects: linux-source-2.
Bug seems resolved by upgrading to "acpi-support" package to version
0.85.
