I can confirm this is not a gnome-systems-tools issue, as I encountered
it both in KDE and in GNOME. In fact in KDE it was more severe, as the
nameservers would reset every few hours, while in GNOME it improved to
once every reboot.

1) In the /etc/modprobe.d and reconfiguring initrd

No its not overheating.
My T42 freezed last time at just CPU 39°C GPU 46°C Wifi 44°C. Breezy
never did, and I have had much higher temps. If it should be a temp
problem Breezy should have the same. Fan speed on Thinkpads are

I've seen the same problem on a panel with default size and with a panel
of size 52. I've been trying a bit with the panel at the top. I've tried
with the panel up and I haven't been able to reproduce the jumping panel

When using voicemail with asterisk via ekia I noticed that attempts to
enter numbers (extensions, passwords, whatever) with repeated digits
would fail. Adding some debug code to asterisk showed that the the

shows no networks, but the LAN cable is plugged. With this configuration
there's no networking. But if I add:

gcc-4.1 in edgy has now -fstack-protector on by default. Today I tried to
compile a kernel and failed. It looked like it couldn't find the stack
protector functions / library.
I had to add -fno-stack-protector to the other flags to compile the kernel
succesfully.
So either
Edgy is already fixed, and I already uploaded the -stable updates. USN
will be released soon.

A few dates ago, I've update to the official sun-java5 packages from
Ubuntu. With these, the problem still occurs. In addition, the problem
also occurs without Amarok running.

It sounds like your eject key is not working properly, rather than it
being KDE's fault.
What type of computer is it? (what model, if applicable)
And is the drive busy at the time?

But IMHO many users need this. There´s also no samba server in the
repositories (at least I haven´t found any). It´s not good if you can´t
share files with windows computers without installing additional
packages.

This bug also uccured in SuSE, and they said it was a bug in the GTK-QT
theme engine and fixed it (then the drawing was correct), so it´s not a
firefox specific problem.

No my CD drive isn´t broken :)
It works on windows and with other distros, I rather think it´s a problem of
the drive being locked while mounted, which older distros had, too.
