Hmm, I was just about to log a bug myself with a strange problem only
apparently occuring on fresh installs of Dapper or Edgy (not upgraded).
I run an 'approx' local .deb cache, (used to be aptproxy but the bug is
the same for both). Pointing the sources.list to my local cache
(approx) gives
I reproduce this bug each time i try to change my icon. I join a report
which help us to fix it.

triggers it is compiz, another being cgwd, I know they are both
unsupported applications (at least the versions I run), but either way
they should not be able to trigger a crash in gnome-session-manager.

The reason why I think that is this: when qtparted is started and when I click

My Thinkpad T23 has e100 and orinoco -devices, and I need to netboot
install from wired network, but the device-names are assigned randomly
making it problematic.. Could udev make wired network devices always
have a higher priority to populate eth0-?

oh, the wlan-card is a mini-pci one so taking it out before installing
isn't an option :)

I've now got a workaround:
Append '-l' to the umount command in /etc/security/pam_mount.conf. That
causes umount to remove the volume from the filesystem immediately and
unmount it properly when it is no longer busy (i.e. gconfd exits).

secpolicy does nothing and never has. it would be better removed from
KDE than have a .desktop file added.

I recently tried to install my Canon ip4200 inkjet printer, using the official
Canon drivers. As I update regularly my system, cupsys-client was update as

ok, final problem solved...the device id list in ath/if_ath_pci.c is
crippled, ostensibly to not interfere with old ath_pci module. i've

I've finally found what was kicking this off, though I think it's more a
symptom than a cause.
I had SMB shares auto-mounting. Removing them from fstab fixed the
problem, lshal now gives output and update-notifier now works.
