This one was created by opening a 454x214 pixel new document, typing in
"fnord" with the text tool in 128-pixel Sans Bold, and running the
Script-Fu > Alpha to Logo > Alien Glow ... thingy.
You'll notice it was cropped down to 390x150 and that the nice glow
effect is thus "gnawed" from the edges.
Since the sample at laku19 is intermittently unavailable, and I found a
way to create a correct example, I'm uploading new samples.
This one is correct, and was created by typing in "fnord" and selecting
128-pixel Sans Bold in the Xtns > Script-Fu > Logos > Alien Glow ...

are not made with Partition Magic or any of the parted variants, but as

This is maybe due to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LibAtaForAtaDisks in progress (or
regress).
At some point I had a UUID instead of /dev/hda1 in my /boot/grub/menu.lst, now
it is back to /dev/hda1. There is a kopt= line with UUID, but it is overridden
by a kopt_2_6= line with /dev/hda1.

Ok. Interestingly enough, it seems like a lot of the weirdness has resolved
itself magically across a few logins, so I don't have any complaints anymore
regarding gtk-qt-engine in Edgy. I do agree that the new version corrects
several flaws in Dapper's version.

afaik NM uses wpa_supplicant for do this kind of stuff.
Can you connect to the WPA network wit wpa_supplicant?

So then only the hp-toolbox and the mentioned GUI-only .py files should
go to hplip-gui.
For the menu entries one should make them run the programs in
interactive text mode in a terminal window when there is no hplip-gui
/python-qt3 and in GUI mode if hplip-gui/python-qt3 is installed. This

I can confirm that this happens for me as well. I can drag new
folders/files to rhythmbox, but the open dialog freezes it.

hmmm this is weird.
if I just try to connect to an already listed network, only WEP* are listed as
Wireless Security. But if I try to connect by clicking on the "Connect to Other
Wireless Network" then Wireless Security lists WPA and WPA2.

I' m trying to connect to a WPA secured wireless network with network
manager.
Network manager only displays WEP choices for Wireless Security.
Can' t it use WPA with username, password and domain?
