This happened only with a new install; I did successfully install 6.06
on a free partition, then upgraded to edgy without problems.

Public bug reported:
This is a new problem for me. My photos appear normal (so the problem is
not my monitor), but video playback is now heavily shifted towards blue.
It just started doing this. Perhaps some kind of codec / video lib
update? All the players (mplayer, xine, totem...) are the same.
Happens on edgy too when the folder name contains a '$', do you have
example of such issue without a name with that char?

I have the exact same problem with lockups during installation of Edgy
i386 on a HP Pavilion AMD64 PC.
The computer has an Amethyst motherboard and Phoenix
BIOS, so the problem is not restricted to ASUS motherboards.
I previously had to install dapper with -nodma, to avoid
lockups when mounting
I can't reproduce and I must say version 0.70 corrects LOTS of issues (firefox
toolbars etc...)
I don't see any reason to go back since dapper version also had lots of
issues...

Quite strange in fact since nobody else reported this...
If it was a gtk-qt-engine bug, we should have gotten dozens of complains about
this...
sohail, I'd be interested to know if edgy version of gtk-qt-engine (0.70)
reproduces the issue for you, since it is known to correct lots of issues.

Yes, you're quite right. The problem is that the event and job share
the same name, and I put an odd restriction in to make that illegal.
That will be fixed shortly.
