If I close lid of my Laptop (Dell Inspiron 8200 with Geforce 440 Go) in
KDE I always have to completly relogin after open it again. If I
shutdown acpi-support with /etc/init.d/acpi-support stop only the
screensaver is started but I am still
I have managed to solve the problem.
Steps:
1. Download isapnptools package from
http://packages.ubuntulinux.org/breezy/base/isapnptools . This is version for
breezy, but it works in Dapper. There is no version for Dapper.
2. Install it using dpkg -i path-to-downloaded file .
3. Create and edit

Just found this after an upgrade the other day too. In the short term
you can probably add prism2_pci to /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist if you are
already using orinoco_pci.

I've installed recently edgy beta. When I open the printers manager and
i try to add a new printer, the windows gnome-cups-add freeze when
reading printers database.
If y try a /etc/init.d/cupsys restart, the wizard appear, but there's no

If the tag metadata hasn't been written to the files (probably not, it's
a recent feature), then the easiest way is to probably move them back.

Boot splash is supposed to be a brown screen stretched to the whole
screen. On my laptop the screen is blank, with five white stripes
blinking within a 640*480 (I guess) box in the middle.

Thanks - it's hard to have a conversion script to handle upgrades like
this, as it'd require having sqlite libsqlite0 installed. You can
probably install libsqlite0 to access the old database, and if you
install the sqlite sqlite3 packages, you can convert your database to
the new format by:
Setting priority to low as it should only affect upgrades from the
universe package.

anyway, the 'backported' package is here (I just took
I'm using Edgy, which was up-to-date on 7th October. The attached file,
when double-clicked in nautilus, causes the problem.

[Edgy] keybind for Log out does not work
If this happens on Edgy, then it's known. I'm currently working to
finish the restoration support, as it's still not there and this crash
is due to code trying to find non existent widgets references from the
old GUI.

there are multiple menu entries for f-spot in alacarte menu editor in a new
edgy install
Wow, that sure was driving me nuts - I never touch adept or synaptic
(only aptitude) and running adept does indeed stop the index watcher
from running every 5 secs. Thanks!
Oh, and I had the exact adept corruption problems described when I tried
to run adept the first time and removing those db
