I don't know how to reassign a bug to a new package, so someone else
will have to do it for me.

I will probably update to Edgy (skipping Dapper entirely!) in the
spring.

I very much appreciate your response, but this report is now quite old. I
was able to solve the problem through other means though. Thank you again

BrowsePoll line in my cupsd.conf, cupsd starts eating all the CPU it can
get. If I remove the line and restart, it goes back to normal.
The server pointed to by the BrowsePoll line works fine, which I
verified by running "CUPS_SER

I figured out what was different on the to machines, and boy is it lame.
On the non-working machine, I had added /usr/lib/softbeep/libsoftbeep.so
to /etc/ld.so.preload. Apparently, this package is not as clever as it
should be at differentiating between beeps and non-beeps.

Thanks for that. But I have no clean install.
I was able to run the "hplip-1.6.10.run" file with sudo. Allthough I had
to install some software with synaptic. But the problem (scanning
multiple documents with the ADF) seems even worse. This is a big problem
for me, and the fastest solution is prob
