Confirming bug as another user experienced the same problem, only with
Ubuntu Herd2 (slightly different traceback).
I think this bug is really connected with Windows partitions as I could install
Herd2 w/o problems on my Linux-only laptop (HP nw8240).

ubuntu) does not accept any parameter for the 'type' command, thus exiting with

Looks like there is different problems described there. On my feisty
desktop printing to a PDF works fine. If you select a printer you can
print using multiple pages per sheet, it looks like that the option is
not available when printing to a file only and gtk-demo does the same

development versions of Ubuntu (Hoary Dapper Edgy) without
re-installation and I never experienced any serious problem with
