fundamentally from the alternate installer (the former installs a live
system, the latter from packages). Both cannot be combined in once CD

Thanks for taking your time reporting this bug. However, this package is
not supported at all. And even worse, it tries to overwrite some system
resources.
I suggest you to install the theme by your user (and not as an alien
package). Copying files to ~/.themes, ~/.icons worked for me (Feisty,

icon it should bring up a dialog asking for your password (the gksu
dialog) if run from terminal gksudo or gksu should be needed of your not
already in a # terminal. you can use sudo also but its not recommended

showing tilda can be changed by right clicking tilda -> Preferences ->
Keybindings. I edited the bug description to reflect that a gui exists
for editing the default key.
I agree with you that None+F1 is not a good default key.

After step 4 of 7 of the Ubuntu Installer, it looks like the graphic
driver crashes. My screen to the middle third of the screen and looks
like TV snow.

Yes, those are debs with some patches from the current 2.17 version. I
built it not so long ago.
The most noticeable changes are there, so if you use it you will be very
close to the actual 2.17.

metacity.
You can stop it as you did or when you remove it in "current session"

I should add, when xorg.conf is altered so that DefaultDepth (in section
"Screen") is set to 24 X will start successfully.
As I understand it, with the i810 driver set to 24 bpp, it causes DRI to
be disabled.
I had it configured at 16 bpp to achieve DRI originally.

I tried Edgy final and the bug is still present. I attached a screenshot of the
icon that don't disappear when the battery is fully charged and the
dmidecode output.

I guess gnome-gnuchess (that is part of package gnome-games) meant to be
used instead of gnuchessx (provided by package gnome-games).
However, if there is a conflict between gnome-games and gnuchess, the
former should include a symlink to provide a working 'gnuchessx' binary
(maybe through /etc/al
I felt I should mention, even though I'm using herd2 I ran this prior to
running the installer:
sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get install ubiquity console-setup
This was due to another bug with screen graphic coruption and I believe
another issue related to the partitioner.
