Hmm... I can boot 2.6.20-8-generic if I use a serial console, leading me
to believe there's a race condition band-aided by the slower boot, but I

A fix that would prevent lots of problem is to update the default theme
(Human) to support color-schemes. I believe the main reason people
install different themes is because they don't like the colors. (not
that the default colors are wrong, its just that different people like
different colors).

Still there with feisty
The problem is that ioctl(fd, CDROMEJECT) always return EIO even when it
works so eject -T doesn't try to call ioctl (fd, CDROMCLOSETRAY)
Maybe it's only a Mac linux kernel issue (timeout or sense code).

I tried to reproduce this by changing to double click, applying, then changing
cursor theme, then restarting kde, and didn't have this problem on Feisty Herd

Any packages that are not part of the main repositories may have
increased delays in security and regular updates. I'd like to know if
there's any reason besides problems with proprietary drivers why you
wouldn'tbe using vino instead (included in the standard Ubuntu Gnome
desktop) ?

I recall having this problem in Dapper, but the login box comes up whole
