Hi folks
I just installed herd5 of feisty. On the Dell XPS m1710, it detects the
wireless card but the card is not functioning. The green light that
tells me whether or not the card is receiving power is not lit.
Here are the settings that an lshw shows for the card:

Ok , it is 3 days now since it has occured , mabye one of the updaes
stomped it. if it does recur I will do what you suggest and post the
results. if it does not recur for a few more days I will report back and
you can close this one.

Had the same or similar problem with driver for newer nvidia cards... I
did a apt-get --purge remove nvidia-glx, then a dpkg-reconfigure -phigh
xserver-xorg, and rebooted and reinstalled via the manager.. it's now
working fine.

I see two entries in Network - "wmaster0" and "wlan0" ... neither can
detect any wireless networks, and manually tying in my essid does not

I can confirm the same symptoms as the original post, but on a desktop
machine with the VIA KT400/KT600 chipset.
2.6.15 (Edgy) worked fine.
2.6.17 (Edgy) required the acpi=force option.

I may be mis-remembering the order of events, but prior to Feisty, I was
able to use vmware-player (on Edgy) with my VLAN configuration. I had
to manually change /etc/vmware/locations to use my eth0.10 instead of
eth0, but it used to work, I swear! :)
