I use Kaffeine 8.3-0ubuntu7 on Kubuntu Feisty, and kaffeine crashes when click
on play VCD (with a Video CD in the cdrom).

The printer is attached locally via USB port.

Worked fine here. I used Edgy with kde 356, with more or less standart
repositories. No problems at all :-D.
Just minor-minor things: CP of the recommanded repositorie into adept,
with konqueror and firefox gave me some strange results, had to correct
it manualy. The updatetool had some strange

I have the same problem on a Samsung X10 laptop.
I could not do a fresh install becuase the alternative installer could not
mount the cdrom despite booting from it to begin with.
After an online upgrade from Edgy I now have a phantom cdrom icon on the
desktop and no access to the real one.

Okay, just got OpenOffice 2.2 final in Feisty and this bug appears to be
fixed. OO no longer crashes when having small Crystal icons or
highlighting the Alignment menu of objects with the Crystal theme.

i see this as well. if you uninstall compiz-extra, the flickering
stops, and everything returns to normal.
if you restart the computer with compiz-extra on and desktop effects
enabled, the gui fails to load.

After updating today NM crashed and didn't come back up before after a system
restart.
Here is what I got from the crash manager:

Which kernel did you run before? Somewhere after 2.6.20-6 there was a
change to the bcm43xx-driver which makes a newer firmware necessary. Did
you try to fetch the newer firmware with an up-to-date bcm43xx-fw-
cutter? On my laptop 2.6.20-13-generic works well with my BCM4318 (r2).

I'm sorry, I misunderstood. I was confusing the bcm43xx-fwcutter stuff
with one of the apps needed for NDIS-wrapper.

While harmless, I consider this a marketing issue for an LTS server
release. In my own experience, I almost dropped evaluating Ubuntu when
I hit the error. (Certainly hadn't seen a similar error when installing
RHEL on similar hardware.) However harmless,

Now that we have LFE and PCM, i've noticed that PCM controls master
volume and Master controls pcm volume. I've filled this as bug #99324.

After the previous editors comment about optical disks I have run my
machine with a CD in both CD drives. However I triggered another 30s
halt by plugging in a USB camera. Here is the dmseg.

This isn't important, but nasty. I was very glad to see that fadeout
(when entering root-password a.e.) was really smooth on Feisty Herd5.
Now I'm using the latest Beta and that Fadeout-Effect is choppy again.
The screen flickers while fading. When I log out, there is no
