I am having the same issue with Ubuntu 7.04. I have ATI 9250 which uses the
open source driver.
I don't think it has anything to do with the open source driver because I have
tried both the open source ati driver and the open source radeon driver with no
difference.
I am using Firefox from mozi

However I sent the kill signal to the xorg process, so apport sent this

deciding factor is whether or not it's mounted in utf-8 mode.

Once connected it is impossible to hang up the current connection.
Twinkle freezes and has to be stopped using kill with -9 !
This happends both in Gnome
Just experienced this problem on Feisty - here's a vote to get the fix
out. (Y)
crenfinkle/nthdegx: are you sure you've got the required codec installed
to create the audio profile your trying to add? I had a problem with one
format - solved when I realised I hadn't installed all the required
gstr
I was notified that those files are there for platforms which dont
support XKB.

I have the same model of toshiba laptop (a135-s4467) and have spent the
last couple of hours trying to get audio working and then trying to get
the speakers to mute when headphones are plugged in.
I ended up installing alsa-driver 1.0.14 rc4 to get audio working once
again with Feisty. I tried "m

Hi,
I just upgraded a Ubuntu desktop to version 7.04 from 6.10 (which worked
perfectly) and experienced the same problem with the "can't access tty;
job control turned off" error. However, I found the solution for this
particular machine quite simple and painless.

While there was a diversion due to the stale .nvidia_legacy_installed/.
nvidia_new_installed problem I believe this bug was initially due to the
386 nvidia binary modules not working.
