Made a strace gaim.
I have seen that gaim was crashing just after opening the file .gaim/pref.xml
So I removed that file and it solved the problem.

I have done a completely fresh install of Feisty on my laptop. (Compaq Presario
2100)
In keyboard preferences I set the keyboard model to Laptop/notebook Compaq
(eg. Presario) Internet Keyboard
On the layout options tab I set the Alt/Win key behavior to Super is mapped
to the win-keys (default)
Changing this to a wishlist bug hope fully it will help it get more

There is something strange with my Ubuntu - when I press key combination
when my language is different from English it doesn't work. For example
in Mozilla when pressing Ctrl+S the save page dialog should be shown but
when I'm using my local language for input it's not

I can confirm this, I experience the same. But entries under Other appeared
after I've done some actions:
Eg. update-menus as ordinary user not root and installed some applications.

OK if you are switching from nvidia-glx-new to nvidia-glx then you are going to
suffer from Bug #106217 (as described on
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia ).
I suspect if you _now_ uninstall nvidia-glx , reinstall nvidia-glx-new ,
switch xorg.conf to nvidia and
this has been already fixed with the new gnome-btdownload 0.0.28
release, already packaged both in debian and ubuntu.
