The way echo is used in compiz.wrapper assumes that /bin/sh is dash.
If /bin/sh is linked to bash, as it needs to be for some users, then the
output of the verbose function in compiz.wrapper puts \n in the

I've got a Dimension 9150 here that I decided to test the Tribe4 Desktop
CD on today. The machine has feisty installed on it and works rather
well. The machine has a Radeon X300SE (RV370) video card in it.

Hi all,
warsow rearranged my resolution after just using it. I didn't fiddle
around with settings. It Just put it to something in the range of 800*600 after
just putting it on then quitting it. This happened couple of times, hence

Maybe a problem wit HAL?
Upon installation, applications randomly crashed and the whole system is
*terribly* slow. Even normal menu actions have some seconds delay, and
now, finally, GNOME only starts up again in safe mode.
Here are the instructions for verfication:
* install fresh dapper
* use language-selector to install finish loclaes
* logout
* login with finish locales again
* run update-manager -c
* wait for the upgade to hang

i had a similar issue with Thunderbird. apparently disabling all extensions and
re-enabling them (after restarting Thunderbird) fixed it.

I confirm this on my Lenovo T60p. However, this bug is not related to
the applet but it is an acpi bug. In fact, there is no way I can change
the frequency even using cpufreq-set or cpufreq-selector.

Same problem with gnome-appearance-properties ... clicking the help button does
not launch ghelp nor display anything else.
System - Preferences - Appearance
I ran through the remaining applets in System - Preferences and System
- Administration and the rest that have a help button all launch
