I eventually found there was an imagezoom.defaultGlobalZoom setting
set to 120%. It remains strange that it suddenly changed without
updating that Image Zoom extension, but nevermind. I set it to 100 and
it instantly fixed the image issue.

This probably isn't a permanent solution, since gnome-bugs #463773 make
it pretty clear the problem happens because openoffice and flash aren't
initializing gtk properly. Archlinux patched glib and then recompiled
gtk with the patched glib to revert the changes to glib that are making
openoffice

I tried to install Kubuntu tribe 4 but the system freezes at installation. The
last thing I see is the progress dialog saying
Loading linux kernel. Then black screen showes up and system freezes.
I guess my buggy ITE8211F controller causes lockups. After I turned it
off
I have an HP Pavilion dv6125om which is having this issue in both Feisty
and Gutsy Tribe 4, both running in amd64 mode with the ubuntu generic
kernel. If I boot without special boot params, it will hang with the
splash screen progress bar at around 13%. If I boot with noapic
noirqpoll things
confirmed on latitude d800, bcm4306, ndiswrapper
just a few tips to complete mlaverdiere tricks :
instead of creating a new init.d script, just add the commands in /etc/rc.local
much easier than adding new init.d and rc links there ;)

In fact, the correct response (for atheros cards) would be to rmmod
ath_pci, and modprobe ath_pci.
If you don't do this, then the wifi still doesn't work after you unkill

It looks like your are suffering from 2 major problems in Feisty: a
kernel problem and an X problem. The X problem could be solved in the
latest development version, therefore you should try to work around the
kernel problem on the latest development version of Gutsy, at this
moment Tribe 4.
The
O..., maybe best is i learn somehow to rewrite the kernel myself, just
take out that usb suspend; i suppose here is nobody around to teach me
that.

When you install Dia (tool for drawing diagrams) in Ubuntu Feisty, Dia
