With manually setting the dpi value, fonts get much better. But they are
still not as smooth and great as with Feisty. Feisty had brilliant fonts
out of the box, and Gutsy looks really ugly, even after tweaking. ;-(

Hi all,
Right now xarchiver has a throbbing progress bar which doesn't give any info.

I've used the temporary work-around of removing the Gutsy gnome-session
2.19.90 and installing the Feisty 2.18.0 version.
In my previous comment I mistyped the version - it should of course have
been 2.18.0, not 2.1.18!
1. Download the Feisty gnome-session v2.18.0 package
2. Uninstall the Gutsy
I was having the same problem of segmentation fault everytime I tried to
use dvdauthor. However I found that the problem is actually due to
incorrect invoke of dvdauthor. Joey I think you are also facing the
problem due to incorrect command line:
You are running 'dvdauthor -o dvd/

I neglected to mention in the previous comment about how to use gnome-
session v2.18.0 that it will cause some functionality to be lost; such
as access to the Suspend Hibernate options and some of the new
Accessibility / Assistive Technology functionality.

I won't actually be able to do this package upgrade in the near future.
Our azureus package is quite complex, and I haven't yet managed to grasp
it.
If someone else doesn't beat me to it, I will eventually be able to do
this upgrade. I appologise if this bug has prevented someone else from
I have the same problem on the Gutsy Tribe 5 Live CD. I have an Acer
AL1916W 1440x900 widescreen monitor, and the 1440x900 resolution is not
listed. In fact, only 4x3/5x4 resolutions seem to be in this list. I
have an ATI Radeon X1600 video card.
Ubuntu should be able to autodetect my monitor,
exactly the same here on a fresh tribe5 setup.

I think many people had never read the content of the Help provided by the
system with yelp.
This help contents a lot of useful information for a new user (like how to
install new software etc), and I'm sure the ones who need those informations
don't know it
I agree, according to my experience, most of people will quit Ubuntu or
think it's too complicate if they can't get information on how to use it
(specially around how to install programs, shutdown/restart the system,
and other basic tasks). Providing a little help to new people at the
first boot
The main reason to split up the package into -core and -extra is to save space
on the Live CD. As the italic ones are not really needed on the Live CD, those
have been put into -extra.
As the experimental ones will presumably change in the future to become stable
ones, a separate -experimental
