screen... though, it does go black for a second or two during bootup.

It is unclear if this particular problem still exists as I can no longer
suspend to RAM or disk using a 2.6.22 kernel. I have reported this as a
bug as well. I am not experiencing (and as far as I recall have never
experienced) the authentication failure returning from suspend under
2.6.20.
Thanks for testing the upstream -intel. I'm hoping to roll out a new
-intel for gutsy-updates at some point. If we can identify the specific
patch that fixes your issue, that would make it easier to make the case
for rolling out the update.

My hunch was right. I manually updated my /etc/apt/sources.list to point to the
Gutsy files and then did a forced update of just the gutsy libc6 2.6.1. It let
me do that. Once that was in place, I was able to use update-manager to

[gutsy] out of range message on monitor
On my system I have a couple of hard drives attached to IDE to SATA
adapters (specifically, SYBA ADSAIDE-3811 adapters). IDE Hard drive -
sata adapter - sata port on motherboard. With Ubuntu 7.10 and 7.04 the
drives with the adapters don't work and I get this output from dmesg
that is attached
