properties. However, you cannote choose between v4l or v4l2 source.
I have a v4l webcam (doesn't work with v4l2, it works with Camorama and
GStreamer anyway) and a video capture card (v4l2 compliant), cheese
looks just for v4l2

I suggest this bug be reopened and that developers think this through
instead of using a black/white approach. Just look at Mac OS X for a
more sensible default (home directories are private by default, but have
a public folder for sharing files and even a dropbox).

If you go to power management settings, on battery power, I bet you have
the slider set to 80% or what not.
I did, and the screen keeps going dark. Well, the there is a BUG! The
slider works in reverse - so set it to 20% if you want 80% brightness,
0% if you want 100%
My solution (reached independently) has been to disable the udev rule entirely:
sudo mv /etc/udev/rules.d/85-ifupdown.rules
/etc/udev/rules.d/85-ifupdown.rules.bak
I can confirm this solved the issue.

libpam_keyring used to to include an executable called pam-keyring-tool, which
can be used to open the keyring. Starting with Gutsy, pam-keyring-tool is no

Having upgraded to 7.10, I find that alarms are not working at all, even
though the events and the fact that they are 'alarmed' are correctly
recorded in my calendar.

I have similar problems.
When a second user logins, played with it and logs of, my first session
is logged of, and I get back at a clean GDM screen. The strange thing is
that it doesn't seem to happen always. User1 has 3D effects enabled.
In the error logs this message appears: WARNING:
Did a clean install of ubuntu 7.10 on the same machine, but still the
same problem.
Looking into /var/log/messages I found it populated with hundreds of
errors like the following one, all of them only differing in the sector
number mentioned at the end of each error:

To search the problem, i go to a complete re-install of my Ubuntu 7.10.
Now, i check all.
The ntfs-3g installed in my computer is version 1:1.913-2ubuntu1.
My computer have only a hard disk:
sda1 is a Windows XP C: drive, filesystem NTFS
sda2 is a Windows D: drive,

I run a batch matlab job server here at my lab, running Dapper 6.06 (for the
LTS). One of the users has submitted a very memory-consuming job, which
successfully crashes the server. Upon closer inspection, the crash happens like
this:
1. I run matlab with the given file
