I know how I got mine resolved... it was spell check. I forget how I
determained it...
I had to go into preferances and goto advanced and uncheck spell check. NOT
sure why it was failing.
I just turned it back on and it crashed with it on. so I turned it back off
again...

I have seemingly same issue. same dmsg as above. link timed out in
daemon.log at the time of disconnection.
here's a reconnect script for ubuntu (remove/insert of the driver) that
seems to work -- the sleep times are a bit random, doing it too quickly
doesn't seem to work.

I have this same problem, it has just started to happen.
only in my case the keyboard goes out as well, so i basically have to resort to
hard resetting.
so far i have not found any similarities in instances that it has gone out.
one time i was trying to empty my trash, and another i was
OMG please fix this! I just installed gutsy, interpreted the new
partition sizse slider like everybody else, got the size wrong, and
frustrated after logging in to my new install. I came here to report
this bug and found it's been reported a long time ago. It's a simple
wording change!

As I wrote in the report, I tested with Gutsy live CD. I do not have the
chance to install it, I believe the livecd kernel is identical with the
installed one.
I will try with prerelease versions of Hardy when I find the
opportunity.

Using the 2.6.24-2 kernel, I just tried hibernate from the shut down
screen and I believe it was successful. The moon light slowly blinked,
and the disk light was active right before the system powered down. To
resume, I pressed the power button, and selected the test kernel. It
seemed to take
This has been verified by several members both using and not using
hardware. Members with the hardware have verified that it fixes the
problem, and without hardware that it doesn't break theirs. (I
personally don't have the hardware and made sure it didn't break
anything additionally)
