Hardy Heron Alpha2 was recently released. It contains an updated
version of the kernel. You can download and try the new Hardy Heron
Alpha2 release from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-2/ .
You should be able to then test the new kernel via the LiveCD. If you
can, please verify

I have been running Hardy since alpha1 and am now using 2.6.24 kernel. I
haven't had a chance in the last couple of weeks to try the wireless due

I can eject by using right-clickEject on the desktop ZIP icon, I get
the popup message about the writing on the zip disk and that user should

I was going to start running hardy at alpha 1 but didn't get around to
it until alpha 2. I installed it but have used it very minimally
therefore due to the random nature of the bug I did not get it. I might
be able to use hardy more full time at a later alpha but It just is a

I think a temp fix which I did was disable the themed login manager and
just use plain interface, since last night with this option I have not
had any errors, also I have disabled acpid and apmd but I think that's
more for laps?

My sound works on Hardy Heron alpha2 but has a lot of static (even at
low volumes) when I tried to play any of my music. For some reason the
ubuntu-sax clip from the examples link on the desktop seemed to play
clearly! The Ubuntu movie had a LOT of static though.

Are you sure you have an AR5006 and not an AR5007EG? While my lspci is
claiming I have the AR5006 chipset, I am fairly sure that this is a bug
and I have the AR5007EG chipset (that is how it is identified in
windows, plus there have been other reports of this).

I notice that it is Unreportable because it's not a genuine Ubuntu

The sound on my Gateway MX3414 (which uses nVidia MCP51 HDA rev a2)

Dell Latitude C640 with the 1024x768 panel can only sync 800x600 and
1024x768
However, when I hand-edit xorg.conf to only have those modes for the
display, 640x480 still shows as available, which causes problems with
SDL games which try to set fullscreen (get wavy images)
This patch changes the string in the source file, translations would
need to be updated.
