I can reproduce this bug 100% of the tries in Gutsy which uses 1.9.4 too. To
reproduce the bug I do:
1. Open quicklauncher settings (Right Click on QL - Properties)

5. click on Close

I'm experiencing similar problems (totem plays sound, other apps don't

Placement plugin in compiz.
Opening a new window on a fixed viewport works for me, using fixed window
dimensions, however, does not.
