Please, see bug 218667 where I request an exception to get an update for
gtk-vnc fixing this bug. There's a link to my ppa which has the update,
so please test it and comment on that bug.
Thanks

vinagre gets colors wrong viewing macosx desktop on powerpc machine
Unfortunately, given the seriousness of the problems I was facing, plus
my inability to install vmware server (the kernel modules wouldn't
compile properly) so I went back to 7.10.

Confirmed on Ubuntu Hardy as well. Effects any message headers. If View
- Headers - All is toggled and the header list is longer than the
Thunderbird window no scrollbars appear making it impossible to scroll
to see the rest of the headers or the message below it.

Installing podsleuth and adding user haldaemon to group plugdev resolved
the issue for me.
As a point of comparison, a laptop I own had a similar issue, and
installing podsleuth fixed things. This laptop was originally installed
with Edgy, which was then upgraded to Feisty (on Feisty release)
I forgot option (3): only restart hal if it is actually running. This is
nice and simple and I will do that.
