Mesa in ia32-libs has the same problem.
~/bin32/gears is /usr/lib/xscreensaver/gears from xscreensaver on an
ia32 Debian Etch system, IIRC. Any 32bit openGL program, even
medibuntu's googleearth package, is affected.

well, i just did something i should have done before posting this bug:
i check ed the KCharSelect.desktop file. my suspicion was confirmed;
the last line has it in two areas, instead of one:
Categories=Qt;KDE;Utility;X-KDE-More;
in kde4 at least it should be EITHER Qt;KDE OR Utility;X-KDE-More,
I just wanted to confirm dhd's fix worked for me as well. I added the
appropriate model number (2884) to line 35 and now suspend works
correctly.

Would you mind trying this with an ext2 or ext3 filesystem using one of
the ext2-on-Windows drivers, such as http://www.fs-driver.org/ ? That
would show whether this is a filesystem issue or an operating system
issue.

(Mythbuntu). It hangs for about 30 - 45 seconds on every boot with a

Confirming this bug for me in hardy 8.04 (Linux mythbox

in the nuvexportrc file in /etc/nuvexportrc
the filename = %t - %m seems to resolve to the date= field - maybe
variables have been swapped in code somewhere

I think i have the same problem as you. When cron starts a cronjob from a user
for example,
that returns more than just a status, for example, wget something, than cron
starts a child process
that is cron defunced from the start and exits a few seconds later, even if
