To add a bit more info, Bash can optionally provide a virtual /dev/tcp
and /dev/udp which can be used to request output from a udp/tcp port.
This works on many other distributions and is a really great feature of

and this left lots of libraries in /usr/local/lib which got picked up
during loading. One of these must have referenced libldap-2.3.so.0.
Cleaning out /usr/local/lib solved the problem.

Running Intrepid Alpha 1 with 2.6.26-3 kernel. Booting is ok, but when I

Binary package hint: lirc
kernel 2.6.26 has deprecated class_device_create and
class_device_destroy. lirc-modules-souce is based on lirc 0.8.3 and
doesn't compile on 2.6.26 (the kernel on Intrepid). The CVS sources for
lirc accomodate 2.6.26 by changing class_device_create

I used the proposed repos and installed the 8.6 fglrx driver to use with
my ATI Radeon HD3870 (rv670 graphics chip).
Compiz worked fine, but running anything that required 3d acceleration
or running just about anything through wine screwed up graphics --
totally fubar. The only way to fix that
/etc/acpi/lid.sh
does
xset dpms force on
and if I do this
sudo xset dpms force on
it resets the brightness to maximum
