I really don't understand why this issue has not received more attention
from other users. This bug seriously degrades the usefulness of autofs

I recently fixed the seeds for the cupsys - cups rename, but
unfortunately a lot of packages still depend on cupsys and libcupsys2. I
announced this transition in Debian and push it there. For now, the
packages are just empty transitional ones, so they don't hurt too much.

enabling gnome-power-manager is a working workaround on my Ubunntu-8.04
x86 desktop.
the situation was a bit worsened by a hidden entry of gnome-power-
manager in my case. I had to remove .config/autostart/gnome-power-
manager.desktop first to make it appear again.

Audio volume, Rhythm Box and Banshee may normally be controlled using
the multimedia keys, above the keyboard. This works independently of the
application having focus.
Note that debian has e2fsprogs 1.41.0-1 in Unstable; it was uploaded
last night, at the same time e2fsprogs 1.41 as released. I am running
Ubuntu Hardy, and I have built Ubuntu packages from released tarball.
In fact, it's what I'm using right now. :-)

Yes, this is really annoying. The tickbox for importing photos
automatically doesn't respond and there is no way to set anything else
than Totem as the default application to play DVDs.

The upstream bug hasn't been fixed; this won't be fixed for 0.11. It was
only (supposedly) fixed for Ubuntu's package, 0.10.2-0ubuntu1, but I suspect

Running Hardy on a Dell D430.
I've installed the laptop-mode-tools upstream deb package from the
maintainer's website on his suggestion. It's seems to be widely
acknowledged that good laptop power management in Ubuntu is broken.
With the upstream Debian package, things appear to be working but

Same here upgrading Ubuntu pc in our corporate lan proxy environment...
Due a good security measure the pc into lan have no direct access to external
address.
We need that flashplugin-nonfree and msttcorefonts (wget) must be take care of
Ubuntu system proxy setting.
