I've been seeing this problem with network-manager pretty regularly
since hardy was released. How could I try to get a backtrace of the
frozen NetworkManager process? (In particular, I have to kill -9 the
process and then restart it on resume before wireless will work again,

Looks like the issue has been resolved for me. I just performed a
system update and then booted into the 2.6.24-20-generic kernel.
Wireless worked. I did notice that with 2.6.24-19-generic the activity
light on my wifi card was always on, but with this kernel the wifi light
only goes on when
Me too, twice. I've now seen this problem on two upgrades from Gutsy to
Hardy.
In both cases the Gutsy machines were updated to the latest kernel
(2.3.22-15).
Following the general advice to kill the locale generating processes
(several times) to reach the end of the upgrade process, accepting

Hi,
I have the same problem here with a multisession CD written on Vista. Tested on
two machines, both running Hardy. Can't mount the CD, even with the mount
command.
I tested also on another machine running CentOS 5.2. The same error is
reported. So, the problem may be in Linux itself.

It seems that I can't get fglrx to work with my ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT
The only thing I did after installing the modules is:

Works well for me too. Did you try to save any other file in your home
directory? Were you able to do that? Because I feel some other settings
would have altered the permissions and hence this problem. Couldn't be a
SpeedCrunch issue.

I'm using an ubuntu Hardy server on a Core2Duo T7400 which is an i686
architecture. The rungetty package 1.2-12 failed for my application
(starting some custom applications). After reading the ubuntu bug
report, I've downloaded the 1.2-10 package and everything is o.k. again.
