I could never get Hardy to work on my machine. I am happy with Gutsy

Now waiting for an actual crash. It happens so randomly with me it may
be a while. If you want to help here are the steps I have taken so far:

Boot with -14 is not a good solution for me, because the installer
FORCED ME to delete -14 and leave only -15 since for some reason
installing Gutsy requires 62.5MiB free on boot (which I have as a
separate partition with only 80MiB).
Hopefully all my killall of all the locale related things did
same problem for me...i uninstalled networkmanger. connection is pretty
slow about 1Mb . and far away sometime i get also disconnections. i'm
on hardy and using proprietary drivers.

installed? I'm seeing the rtl8180 driver in the linux-backports-modules
git tree for Hardy:

Hardy does not have support for Realtek 8187 USB
Has anyone tested this yet to confirm that the new driver works? There
is now another lum upload in the hardy-proposed queue which supersedes
it.

that I have been copying files off of onto my Ubuntu partition. It is
about 80GB

For the benefit of others who come across this bug:
127.0.0.1 scotty
Don't do this. 127.0.0.1 should always resolve to 'localhost', not to
any other name.
scotty@:~$ hostname
scotty@:~$
This indicates that no hostname is set. To fix this temporarily, run:
sudo hostname
