Hi Bryce, no luck.
The crash still went more or less the same, except that the crash
happens sooner. Previously the screen would go through some visible,
flashy mode switches before crashing, but this time it didn't.

New kernel did not fix it. Intrepid Alpha5 freezes laptop completely
after the message Rebooting the system is displayed. Keyboard is dead
as well as CD-ROM eject button, and the only thing that can be done is
to power machine off by holding Power button.

Kernel 2.6.27-* won't boot on acer aspire 9300
The bug was fixed by new stkwebcam kernel module in Alpha 4. However,
when moving to the new kernel webcam is not being detected at all!
Running modprobe stkwebcam does not help. Ekiga shows no input video

It doesn't complain that it cannot write, it complains that it cannot
read. As pointed out by petrojn, it is because you run with security
manager enabled and it prevents the webapp from accessing that file.
For your own applications, that's something you should set by adding

However, pptp-linux located on desktop CD is not installed by default.

Installed : opensync, synce-hal, opensync-plugin-evolution,
opensync-plugin-synce, multisynt-tools, multisync0.90,
i'd like to try manually rmmodding powernow_k8 before the sleep/resume
cycle (i've tried setting it in acpi-support) but as soon as i load the
k8 module, i'm unable to unload it - anyone know how to tell what is
using it, or what device it creates (so i can find it in lsof) ?

New 2.6.27-* kernel included with Intrepid Aplha5 now enables sound
right out of the box. However, the sound level is low, and the mike
produces poor quality sound which is also faint to the point of being

I have made some photographs of the crash to busybox.
Sorry for the sad quality, my laptop screen reflects every bot of light that is
directed at it; However, I've personally seen to it that the pictures are, in
fact, readable.
