I've tested your new human-icon-theme package, but it still does show a black
rectangle.

I see this to on an Intrepid system (running gnome, not kde). After a
while, no more X clients can be started, and I get the error 'Maximum
number of clients reachedxlsclients: unable to open display :0.0'
However if I close some client, then I am able to start another client.

Automount of memory sticks just started working for me, but I don't know
why. The last thing I did was to remove the entry for /dev/sdb1 from
/etc/fstab -- but I had tried working without that entry previously,
without success. I now can mount two sticks simultaneously and I get
the new medium

I have a Solo1450 Gateway laptop and I was having the exact same random
freezes on this machine with NO LOG FILES showing anything! I tried the
Powertop. I simply let to run for maybe 15 minutes and I accepted the
four solutions it suggested. My laptop to running beautifully now with
Ubuntu

When starting a localapp from the server that will make use of the sound
server, it can't access to pulseaudio because this one is listening only on TCP.
In order to make it work, the variable PULSE_SERVER has to be set to 127.0.0.1.
