I don't understand why you've marked this invalid. Is the presence of
desktop effects supposed to excuse the high number of wake-ups? That's
not a valid reason.
Regarding your driver, is it nvidia, configured with on-demand
interrupts? Intel doesn't have that luxury AFAIK.

The Dell XPS M1330 model has many reports of motherboard failure due to
overheating of the nvidia 8400M GPU. This has been addressed in part by
the new A12 BIOS, which runs the system fan more actively, so increasing
the lifetime of the GPU.

I installed kubuntu 8.10 beta and I had to reinstall grub from live CD
because I resized my partitions and grub got screwed. After that there
is no last good boot entry in grub menu. I tried sudo update-grub but
its not adding the last good boot. Is this issue related to this bug.

I also enabled laptop-mode and and the bug was there on battery.
In laptop-mode config file it says that hdparm uses -B254 when on AC and -B1
when on battery.
I changed -B1 to -B128 but the load_cycles still increase rapidly (I

[liblcms1] [CVE-2007-2741] DoS vulnerability
I have same problem with mic input as edward mentioned above but audio
playback is fine, my hardware is hda intel stac 9250 gateway laptop. I
tried all the versions hardy and intrepid to latest beta still no go.

For some reason I thought I was subscribed to this bug but I wasn't. So
as the guy who reverted the backend from GTKAgg to the upstream default
(Agg) I have to admit that I didn't fully understand that Agg wasn't a
GUI backend. I've always used GTKAgg, so my bad there.

OK. Could you run alltray with the -d option and the next time you have
this problem, attach the output from it? In a terminal, for example,
run:
alltray -d -stask thunderbird .logs/alltray-thunderbird

Okay, given that the edid issues are appearing on both the ati and sis
graphics, I'm guessing this is not an -ati issue but perhaps the server.
Refiling. Probably this should be forwarded upstream at this point.
