Here is a debdiff between the current package in intrepid and the one in
my PPA. The only change is to add a few symlinks from non-France French
locales back to the fr_FR dictionary.
I don't believe that there is much potential to break any other
dictionaries (or even the fr_FR one).

since i have upgraded to intrepid beta, I have not had this problem.
well at least not as severely as it was in hardy. now only occasionally
it takes more then a few seconds to reconnect. i still sometimes see
the networking disabled thing but it ends up reconnecting much faster
them before.

spellchecked without installing a dictionary first.

Are you able to access the share at all? Do still have the problem
seeing the share if you press ALT-F2 and enter the following command:
nautilus smb://192.168.1.101/$C
In this case the XP computer is 192.168.1.101 and the share I am trying
to access is named $C.

If I recall correctly the example content is going to be replaced with new
content. I think jono mentioned something on his blog that was then on
planet.ubuntu.comfor intrepid. This bug maybe fixed then with Intrepid's
release
