In my case, when I close Kmail, it asks me for my passphrase for kwallet and

Blacklisting b43-pci-bridge did work, thanks for that. However, I
still have to have b43, rfkill_input and mac80211 blacklisted as well
and still require ndiswrapper to start before b44. Hopefully the
developers will be able to fix it soon.

I am afraid that you are going to meet a brick wall on this one folks.
Milestone dates rather than acceptable operation are sacrosanct, which is a
great pity and will spell the end for Ubuntu if it carries on much longer. More
and more folk are simply not signing up to it, after all the
Upstream version compiles without any issue in Jaunty. Here is the link

I think this might also be the cause of #290704: [Intrepid] Computer
freeze when switching user (duplicate of bug #266911).
I observe this message in my kern.log when ever I have compiz enabled
(and therefore the proprietary ATI driver) on my thinkpad T400 (with
discrete graphics enabled).
Such an update will not happen according to the Ubuntu Policies.
OOo3 might be available in Hardy via backports but will never be included in
the official path afaik.

instead. No issues except suspend is iffy and hibernate does not work at

I tried with the Composite enabled but still the menus are not rendered in
openoffice, opera, amsn. And the text in general is rendered slow like in
programs like xchat. If i turn of compiz then it works just fine so the
question is why doesnt it work with compiz? I realy want compiz to work

Same problem, I login from a nis server and my UID is inferior to 500.

Actually the touchpad still disconnects, but I think this is a
hardware problem. For me is fixed, but I really really don't remember
if I put the lines

I've tried some different combinations. Here are the results:
- openoffice.org-core 1:2.4.1-11ubuntu2 on Ubuntu 8.10 (Dutch version of OOo
and Dutch version of Ubuntu) I type Oktober or Juni and after pressing
Enter, it's converted to oktober or juni. Typing the name of months in
