the nautilus browser from any non-gnome application (Sawfish
keybindings/Xterm). It starts from Gnome Panel or gnome-terminal without

(copy) rather than actually renaming it and then use Ctrl V (paste) in

I also found that if I open the "Add camera..." dialogue, edit the
existing camera, change the camera model and then change it back (so
that the dialogue thinks a change has been made), then press OK (and OK
to close the list of cameras), the connection problem seems to go away.

I verified that the Hardy issues are all due to the old libedit version
in Hardy: I rebuilt the Intrepid libedit on Hardy, and now everything in
gnuplot works. I guess backporting a library like libedit is not
possible, since many packages depend on it.

Actually it's still not back to normal. I still can't do anything with
any of the icons on my desktop. The boxes are still there (but looking
pretty).
I can use the panel/taskbar applets and menu's tho and i'm able to
switch between the different desktops and between open applications.

utterly slow and sluggish as soon as I started the GNOME session. boot

Hi All,
Everything was working fine when I was using Stefan's PPA kernel patch
2.6.27-8.17 smb2. Now I have a new kernel update and the kernel I am using
is
$ uname -r
2.6.27-9-generic
At this point, my webcam has stopped working correctly. Here is an output of
cheese -v.
$ cheese -v &
[1] 16782
I tried to disable the check in the code where the conflict is reported
to see if there is a real conflict or just the BIOS reporting the region
as used. It compiles and runs ok, it allows me to use all features of
tp-smapi without problems so far. See http://mailman.linux-
