From what I can tell both bug# 157191 has been addressed and there is a
package for collectd (same as collectl) in the hardy repositories so I
think this bug should be closed now. I think the original bug was about
no package existing for it which is no longer the case.

I can confirm this on Ubuntu Intrepid, running all the latest updates as
of 19/12/08. My main issue is when trying to mount cd's with image files

Actually it isn't usually that bad, in fact there is a wide variation in
how long using Ctrl-A takes to select between 2 and 100 messages in a
folder. I haven't done detailed timings but subjectively the fastest is
about 0.5s and the slowest is about 2s. It is not clear that it is
dependent on
This is seemingly a problem with gnome-power-manager, acpi_listen
displays keypresses immediately. Also, if you change power manager
settings like dim while idle, the brightness OSD stops responding for
a period of time and the selectable brightness levels become severely
reduced.

It seems to me that this is an upstream problem for gnome/metacity and
not ubuntu specific. Increasing the default size is not an option
because it makes everyone else's setup ugly and wastes space.

The scroll wheel doesn't work while the player is on fullscreen, that's
a known issue, it's fixed upstream and being tracked on bug 303045,
totem volume control only reacts if: you hover the mouse over it just
like rhythmbox does and if you click on the widget and scroll on it,
that works fine

Gnome-Do works now!
I tried starting Gnome-Do from a Guest account and it worked there. So, I
restarted the computer and logged on to my account and noticed that Gnome-Do
started automatically as it always used to do.

the problem I had (and that is cited in bug #251107) is that with the
recently released nvidia legacy driver compatible with Xorg 7.5, that is
96.43.09, OOo, KDE3 and Wine applications don't show neither menus nor

I dunno how to reproduce with Valgrind. The problem is that it starts
automatically on startup without Valgrind. But I was hard-working and created a
new backtrace with all debug packages enabled and so on. Maybe you can see a
