@Leann: it shows open before and after. If I disable the automatic
suspend, and poll /state while closing and opening the lid, it correctly
transitions from open to closed to open. The lid switch seems
definitely to be working, it simply doesn't trigger a wakeup.

I really don't understand how a pop-under window is supposed to notify

I followed the hint from the blog and it has helped! The orange icon is
there... I had to downgrade one package manually with dpkg to give it try :-)
In the terminal run:
gconftool -s --type bool /apps/update-notifier/auto_launch false
and then either logout/login from X or restart

I cannot connect properly anymore with my IMAP server. When I get
evolution to work it just says Pinging IMAP server and I see that its
trying to connect to the server. I have removed the imap folder from
.evolution/mail and even removed all the password settings in seahorse.
The quick fix is to determine the menu and manually change the post
command an set time to wait to '0'
I will go ahead and add a check box in the MovieDialog to Loop[x] ad
handle the logic. This is a very common thing and must be handled
easier.

Why doesn't the panel just not show an icon for things that don't have
icons? If it's because the menu item's height is then different from the
rest, how about making the icon be an empty PNG or SVG that's just total

I have removed 0.8 from my PPA at this time. I;m working on 0.9 and

As I wrote in my bug report, this bug is already fixed in Audacity
1.3.5. Intrepid is already using version 1.3.5 and Jaunty has version
1.3.7 so the problem is fixed for newer Ubuntu releases, though it may
still be a problem for users of 8.04 LTS.

I think the problem is that after the start, gcalc internally stores 0 as
last computed result.
If you compute something, press =, then you get the result. If you press
cos right after that, cosinus will use the value just computed in the last
computation.

Will there be any words on this?
It's bad enough that this feature was practically not covered anywhere
public but the UDS (personally I did not sit and listen to every uds session
or read every transcript, I'd expect something important to show up in a
publicly visible space like planet ubuntu
