My theory that this is a side-effect of #353251 is probably bogus. I still can
not reproduce the problem, but it seems like:

That's right Paul. I'm having issues now too, as I have defective usb 2.0
hardware (usb 1.1 is working flawlessly via the same usb connector) so I used
to unload the ehci-hcd which is not possible anymore with the latest kernel
revision 2.6.28-11.40 because *hci-hcd are built-in now.

Hi all
Since the old i810 driver is no longer in the repos (since intrepid) the
solution i posted on ubuntuforums.org is not working anymore. The new
Intel drivers have no support for TV-OUT on the 855gm.
The only way to get a working TV-out is switching back to hardy (8.04)
because the old i810
/agree with maor - the problem still exist with the brand new 180.44
packages. I've tested and confirmed on two different systems. :\

I'm sorry, I reported it wrong. It's not all nouveau fault, only
partially. Looks like no OpenGL support may be affecting flash, but the
overall system slowness is caused by another reason (probably bad
multitasking, as applications tend to take all CPU resources from time
to time).

Thank you gedakc for your interest and explanation which makes some sense.
Ubuntu 7.10 used to automatically mount available partitions, which was
reflected in displayed Gparted information as you explain.
Other Linux distribution LiveCDs, particularly PartEdMagic improved on this,

If Matt Price confirms it works in Jaunty I'll create a debdiff and see
if we can get it sponsored into the ubuntu package, although I'm

OK. I wasn't sure if the skeleton conf file is in the same place on all systems
or if this was Ubuntu-specific, and if it was Ubuntu-specific, then the
hardcoded file path would need to be not-hardcoded. Are you saying it's ok as-
