Not sure if there was a change in the defaults, or versions of OpenJDK, but
I switched to the sun JDK, and do not receive this error anymore. Simply
modified the /usr/bin/azureus script after installing the Sun JDK. Modified
the JAVA variable to point to the sun executable, and all was well.

The error I get is the same StephenA reported:

and I get it by calling odbc_execute() or odbc_exec() with any query.

I removed /usr/lib/sasl2/*digestmd5*, then did "apt-get --reinstall
