Tried downloading the daily build livecd and run it.
It failed horribly. That is, I got crashes on several programs. gdb,
dkms, firefox and the nvidia driver, but not a crash on depmod.
I tried to report the bugs with the automated tool (apport) but I'm not
sure how many of them got through.

to the 6.7 version and now everything works as expected. Should have
checked for that myself, bleh.

How is the u1 sync enabled configuration switch stored? If it's
gconf, the autostart .desktop file could at least use an
AutostartCondition: to prevent startup in the default case?
That won't help the people who do have it enabled, but at least it
would give a better first impression.

I think jandom means network-manager-pptp. But there is Bug 362825
network-manager-pptp conflicts with network-manager, which makes this
workaround fail for Hardy (Dell Mini). I learnt this the hard way by
installing network-manager-pptp and then everything with the network
