Martin, I'm re-opening this bug after having it occur in a jaunty -
karmic upgrade, as reported in duplicate bug 402115. How this occurred
for me is, if during the early stages of an upgrade when it attempts to
update the apt cache after rewriting /etc/apt/sources.list, if the apt
cache update
I have an maudio ozone (not the academic version) and it always used to
work, in former ubuntu versions. Now i am running the 9.04-64bit
edition. I got the segfault error at first. After that, I downloaded the
source package, made changes like sugested in #12, and ran configure,

Ok this has 'come back' because upstream have rather unhelpfully renamed
the option from SECURITY_DEFAULT_MMAP_MIN_ADDR to DEFAULT_MMAP_MIN_ADDR
and so the option ended up defaulting to the upstream default of 4096
across the board. Will reinstate the preferred values.

I just uploaded now a new version to Debian sid which contains this bugfix.
But it's strange that grub-probe already failed to detect it as valid fat fs.
Could you plesae attach a dump of first 512 bytes of it?
You can get it with `sudo dd if=/dev/sda2 of=fat.bs count=1 bs=512'. It's in

Ubuntu. This specific issue is a duplicate of bug 332350, and so I am
marking it as such. Please address any further comments with respect to
thank u for ur concern leann but i think that the problem was with the
update manager. i tried installing all the updates and it was fixed and
also i did some editing in grub so everythin is all right now
