I found out that there is a change going on at Yahoo. So the original
server setting in Kopete is not correct anymore. I connect to a server

However, I have found a work-around, if I disable powernowd (i.e. mv

I work on a fully patched Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty installation an try to get an
external USRobotics UBS dial-up modem online. No success so far, although I got
it to work with Ubuntu 8.10. Some details:
Setting up the dial-up connection was done with pppconfig
pon ISP and poff work with my user

cant attach .xsession-errors because its hidden
/etc/gdm/Xsession: Beginning session setup...
Setting IM through im-switch for locale=fr_FR.
Start IM through /home/oem/.xinput.d/fr_FR linked to
/etc/X11/xinit/xinput.d/scim-bridge.

works for me on my laptop.
For those who use Kubuntu (KDE 4+) and dont wan't to type that command
on each halt/reboot, here's what I've done :
create 2 scripts which are executable by root. One for halt, on for
reboot.
basically the script are

ifconfig wlan0 down
Here's a debdiff for karmic that enables *EXTREMELY EXPERIMENTAL*
support for a logarithmic volume control. I warned you there.
Honestly it was pretty easy (so easy it's deceptive) but I don't know if
it works perfectly. I haven't been able to try it on a card with a
negative volume lower

One of card readers of Aspireone doesn't work, the other one only when a card

Still not working with live 'karmic koala alpha 3'.
apport-collect -p linux 267387 done, after inserting cards in both readers
a couple of times.

I finally added options snd-hda-intel model=ref to /etc/modprobe.d
/alsa-base
I have been editing alsa-base.conf, but it was the edit in alsa-base
without the .conf extension that did the trick.
Other than that one line, alsa-base is empty, so I thought people
editing that
