with my usb-modeswitch Debian maintainer hat on…
The /etc/usb_modeswitch.conf configuration file can_not_ have multiple
configurations. The usb-modeswitch binary will use the first available
set of definitions and launch the corresponding command: it allows to
use $ usb-modeswitch directly
nevermind, the windows driver did get corrupted at some point, I
replaced it and this particular problem is now gone (although a new one
has appeared)

I had /etc/dbus-1 folder open in Nautilus. When I closed it Authorizations
could be opened.

Providing a debdiff, in case we want to tackle this issue in Karmic. It
contains a modified apache2.conf which defines the log formats
vhost_combined, combined and common using %O instead of %b.
