I can reproduce this, and have collected the information that Pedro
requested. I have attached the output of gnome-screensaver --no-daemon
--debug, and have pasted the related syslog entries below.
The only resolution for me when this happens is to log in at the console
and restart gdm.

simply locking the screen and then attempting to log in. However, it is

I've noticed low performance since the .31 kernel series (well, once I
got it to work without flickering). The .30 kernels all are very fast
