I have the same problem. No audio when plugging in the headphones. The

Apprently the 256gb SDD drive does only have 238.47gb of usable space...

short version: fixed for me
long version: my system was working with self-made packages of poppler 0.11.0
and the same behaviour appeared (I guess) after the latest texlive update.
It is now working fine again with the poppler version available in the archive
but not with the older version!
I follow all your steps and I can't reproduce this error with Jaunty
(rhythmbox 0.12.0). a note about this is rhythmbox do not allowed to
drag and drop any element like albums or songs from Jamendo to a
playlist.

This was actually in the portion of computer-janitor that is in the
update-manager source tree. I've sent in a patch for Michael, should be
fixed in the next update-manager upload.
