Thanks!!
I was not able to start AWN. After configuring and enabling the
Compositing manager, it worked. However, then my visual Effects stopped
working. I didn't make the connection between the two. I stopped the
compositing manager and now the effects work again.

confirming, i use the board as shipped with no changes (original uboot,
pulling uImage via tftp, no changes to uboot options) my monitor goes
into a way to hig video mode with this kernel ... the monitor is an
about 3 years old LCD which can do up to 1280x1024 and should also
properly report EDID
